This first photo was taken at our humble hotel, the Isla Verde, which accurately refers to itself as an "oasis of traditional Chinese hospitality on the outskirts of the capital city." We enjoyed our stay there -- especially their breakfasts. Thanks to Silas's early-to-rise habits (we sometimes call him "the little alarm clock"), we were the first breakfast patrons every morning. The Parque la Sabana used to be the San Jose airport. When the new airport opened, the city turned the old airport into a huge green park. Meredith went for a quick run while I watched the sleeping Silas; then we found a local soccer game.

The San Jose Marriott was a beautiful spot for a wedding. I didn't get many good photos because it was dark and I don't really know what I'm doing with our camera yet. Ben and Gloria's wedding and reception were lovely and were simulcast in Spanish, English, and, occasionally, Cantonese.

Yeah. Great pictures. Congratulations, Meredith, on your graduation! Also, I like how Silas is rocking the Robeez--and not! He's styling.
