Museum of Natural History

The best deal on the Upper West Side, for parents, has got to be the Museum of Natural History family membership. Forget the exhibits -- it's just nice to have someplace for Silas to run during these months when it's often below freezing.

Silas was a whirling dervish on this particular visit so we didn't get a lot of photos. Here he is just outside the museum, demonstrating the day's standard response to "Let me take your picture" -- turn, laugh, run.

I don't have your email address on my work computer -- we are shopping for a new camera. Can you tell me what kind you have and whether you like it? Do you use the flip camera for video and a different one for still shots? Hugs to Meredith & Silas. xoxo Abby

I feel the same way about the Science Museum here - it's an awesome indoor play space. Then, there is the zoo, which has a phenomenal outdoor kids place, including a little playground with a meandering stream that kids are encouraged to splash around in. On hot summer days, it's a great place to go.
