Silas's vocabulary continues to expand, and is divided into the words that he fully understands (new additions: book, duck, and hat) and the words that he likes to repeat but doesn't understand at all. Here's a cute example of the latter category:
Silas loves sitting in people's laps. If he wants to sit in your lap, he'll walk up to you until he's about a foot away. Then he'll turn around and back toward your lap, lowering his butt as he gets closer. When he feels his calves making contact with your legs, he'll plop himself right in there. Thanks primarily to Charlene's hard and patient work during the morning teeth-brushing, Silas has finally decided that getting his teeth brushed is not an apocalyptic event. Here's an evening teeth-brushing with Dad:
