Washington

With Meredith working nights in the ER and me taking a few weeks off between clerkship and law firm, it was the perfect time for Silas's first trip to Washington State. Above: Silas, Grandpa, and the ancestral apple tree.

Above: walking the path around Grandma and Grandpa's house. Below: reading with Grandma.

On Saturday, Silas was visited by the McDonnells, McArthurs, Stones, Klopfers, and Seas. I wish I had more photographs -- I was too busy talking to all of the relatives. We did manage to take a picture of the younger cousins. Back row: Parks, Colby, Jackson; front row: Makayla, Silas, Cassidy, Carmen, and Jake.

Here's Uncle A.J. making Silas crack up:

Silas with Great Grandma Bernice:

At the Ferko's, I caught Oscar (almost three) in the act of deciding that his toys were not for Silas to play with:

More photos from the trip are here.

Yeah, we know... your kid is nicer than our kid. We figure that in about 2 years Silas will teach Oscar what they mean by "revenge is a dish best served cold".

It was lovely seeing you and holding your sweet boy for the 50 seconds with which he graced my arms.

Love to all of you.
