Haircut?

Here are some recent pictures, and a question: When should we give Silas a haircut?

Look at this curly mop. I thought it was time to give these blond locks the ol' chop chop, but Meredith and Charlene think Haircut Silas will look like a boy, not a baby, and they're not ready for that. Now is your chance to vote (see poll at upper right), although we can't promise that the poll will have any effect on when we actually cut his hair. [N.B. The poll has been removed, but there were 8 votes for Now, 18 for Later, and 11 for Never.]

Silas loves walking at the playground -- sometimes with Mom's help, sometimes cruising along the park benches:

He also loves looking at trees.

The high chair is my fault. When it became clear that Silas needed his own seat at the table, I was dispatched to purchase something. Short on time, I checked Baby Bargains and saw that the top-rated high chair was also pretty inexpensive -- end of search. I walked to the store, grabbed the box, and carried it home.

Once I unpacked and assembled the high chair, it became clear that the Fisher-Price Healthy Care High Chair was a garish monstrosity. We have the "Rain Forest" model, as you can see from the toucan and butterfly flitting around Silas's head. On the plus side, it's easy to clean, which is nice when you have an imprecise eater in the house.

Boys are boys for a long time, but babies for not enough time. So I say leave it alone for a while until it starts bothering you (or him) or for his 2nd birthday...... whichever comes first!

The curls are absolutely precious!!! They should stay AL[ong]AP.

Todd, just because you are jealous of his hair, no reason to take it out on him. The McDow clan is celebrating Thanksgiving in DC this year, any chance we can get you, Meredith, and Silas to join us?

I had the same thought as Margaret. Let the boy keep his hair for awhile. I love the curls.
