Unblogged favorites

It's October, and Silas's first birthday is right around the corner. We're in a reflective mood here at the Silas blog, so Meredith and I pulled together our favorite unblogged photos from the past year.

November: We love all of the Silas-in-a-drawer photos from the East Village. Our old apartment had, to say the least, irregular heat. Some nights were open-the-windows hot, other nights illegally cold. Here, Silas is bundled up for one of the moderately cold evenings. (You can tell it's not one of the freezing cold nights because he's not wearing a hat to bed.)




December: Here's Silas looking comfortable on Kelley's lap, working up one of his proto-smiles.



April: Here's Meredith feeding Silas, in one of the early, and numerous, "I can't believe he's eating from a spoon" photos. To this day, Silas remains an occasional player of the try-to-knock-the-food-off-the-spoon game.



May: Silas and I were both pretty sleepy when Meredith took this one. This picture, like the one above it, makes use of our so-called fast lens, which decreases the depth of field. (Compare the background books here to the books in the Kelley photo.)



August: Silas likes to hang out beneath the high chair. You'd be surprised how easy it is to find cheerios under there.



September: Here's Silas roughing up his mother on a recent visit to Central Park.
