Silas is growing marigolds this summer.Here is a picture from Friday showing the results of Silas's hard work so far (and the results of Meredith's latest haircut).
No flowers yet, but we're hopeful. (Anyone know anything about marigolds? Did we miss the flowering season?)
Back in May we bought from the local hardware store a packet of seeds, some soil, and a little pot. Silas planted the marigolds himself in the back yard of our building.
The marigolds have been watered twice a week -- by Silas when he's feeling proprietary and/or proud of his efforts; by me when Silas is feeling like he can't be bothered with this annoying chore.
